We could see and feel how much effort was put into every little detail of the place, we had a long stay and didnt need to go get any amenities from the shops as all was available and ready for our use - it felt like home away from home. To top it all off, Donatella was an amazing host and provided all the help and guidance we needed, we felt so supported 😃 If you are thinking of visiting the area, this is the perfect spot for your stay!

Donatella thought of absolutely everything when designing this space. From the smell of fresh flowers that greet you as you walk in the door, to the beach towels, extra blankets, organic toiletries, plush towels, and lovely porch swing - you almost don't want to leave the cottage to explore! On the walls are all these beautiful sayings of self affirmation and positive thoughts related to the beach setting the tone for your vacation. It was absolute bliss!

Not only is the space beautiful, you are literally a stone's throw from the beautiful Tallow beach. If that beach isn't enough for you, Donatella has a welcome pack put together telling you about the area and all of the secret local spots that are worth checking out. My sister and I spent three days here and checked out 5 of the beaches in the packet! The famous Suffolk Bakery is a two minute walk from the front door and Byron is a short 10 minute drive.

Check in was super easy, as Donatella sent detailed instructions and maps on how to find the White Cottage and do a self check-in. We did happen to lock ourselves out by accident and Donatella was quick to reply to our text and let us in.

The White Cottage exceeded all expectations! If you are planning a trip to Byron look no further!

As other reviews have said, the cottage is very private, quiet & is in a great location, being a short walk to Tallow Beach & the local shops, & just a bike ride or short bus trip into Byron. It is well equipped with what you need for a great stay near the beach. Donatella is a wonderful host, ensuring privacy while being readily available should you need to contact her. Will definitely be back!

She doesn’t skimp on anything and you know she really wants you to fully and completely enjoy your experience. The complementary bikes (with helmets and locks) were super handy.   Donatella's White Cottage is exactly as described, a compact, tucked away gem 1 minutes walk from the beach and packed with little extras that make the stay comfortable and relaxing.... read more Loved the included beach umbrella and chairs, the bikes work great and are super useful for getting around the area. The place is tucked into the local neighbourhood, but the work Donatella has put into the gardens makes it feel secluded and private. We have been to Byron a bunch of times over the years, but always stayed around town, this time we took a chance on Suffolk Park and were really impressed. It has a much more local feel, with just a few shops and much fewer holiday rentals, but is still just a short car ride or flat bike ride into town. Tallows Beach is incredibly nice, not as protected as the beaches in town, but with its own appeal. Definitely recommended.

Everything is thought of, beautifully and thoughtfully put together. You can hear the ocean, feel the breeze, relax on the deck in the shade and read a book or enjoy your morning coffee (done and done). Donatella is the hostess with the most-ess, every detail is accounted for, she's extremely kind and responsive. This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable AirBnB stays I've ever had. What’s usually most important to me is peace and quiet and a comfortable bed. The bed is honestly the comfiest Airbnb bed I’ve slept in and top 5 mattresses I’ve slept in anywhere and I spend at least 60% of my year away even during Covid times. I didn’t even need to use the mattress topper I travel with.

The cottage although compact is extremely well kitted out and stylishly decorated. The outdoor area is such a delight with a daybed and swinging egg chair, gorgeous native plants and the sound of the ocean and birds soothing you. Although I didn’t use the bike it was thoughtful touches like this that I appreciated.

The location just a couple of houses down from the beach, down the street from grocery, pharmacy and restaurants was very convenient even though I had a car.

Communication was prompt, friendly and excellent. I can highly recommend this place as a convenient, peaceful, comfortable place to stay just a short few minutes from Byron bay. Thanks Donatella!

  Very small accommodation and claustrophobic, No dishwasher, no oven just an unclean cook top with variable heated plates, tiny fridge, television set in the bedroom and not in the family... read more area, no Foxtel, could not get the microwave oven to work, no potato peeler to peel some vegetables, salad servers but no large salad bowl , no glad wrap and no paper towels, no toilet roll holder, no bars of soap , outdoor shower did not work, irregularly stone pathway that was not well lit coming in at night and could have caused a fall injury; drinking glasses looked unclean and had to be rewashed before use
Definitely well below the standard of other airbnbs that we have enjoyed, even in the same area. Not worth the money considering the size and lack of amenities. However the walking distance to Tallows Beach and the 2 bicycles provided were appreciated. Felt like I was ripped off and a wanted my money back . Having paid a high cleaning fee expected the cleanliness of the kitchen to be spotless
